The London Picnic Club

The Skyroom near London Bridge is a delightful space that has recently been transformed into the London Picnic Club providing an intimate rooftop garden experience, created by Platterform.

The menu incorporates carefully select dishes from across the world, served inside a cute little picnic hamper. It costs £35 per person for a set menu (this does not include drinks unfortunately) which is fairly steep but worth it for the experience.

Kicking off the meal, we were given a selection of St. John's bakery breads, cheeses, brindisa charcuterie and some delish home-made jams.

We decided to try out both starters on the menu, the first was mixed Seabass and Octopus Ceviche with Passion Fruit and Chilli. Unfortunately this wasn't a great hit with us, the texture was slightly runny but each to their own...

We were also given the Heirloom Tomatoes, Quinoa and Tabouleh Salad. For those who don't know what quinoa is (as I had no idea at the time) it is a grain-like crop grown for its edible seeds.

Moving onto the mains we all opted for the Chicken Thighs with Coconut and Rum sauce, served with Yam fritters. This was my personal favourite, the yam fritters were amazing and the sauce went really well with the chicken!

Last but not least was dessert... we were served Pineapple Mess which tasted like heaven!

After our lunch we decided to burn off a few calories by playing a spot of ping pong on the roof on a mini table which proved rather difficult (we soon gave up) and decided to head on.

The rest of the day was spent wandering around being tourists.

On our wander we headed over to Bourough Market wishing we hadnt just filled ourselves up after seeing all the delights it had to offer.

We stopped for some Ice Cream from Greedy Goat

Their ice cream is made from goats milk which means it is Lactose friendly - perfect for those that don’t do dairy. Its also easier to digest with a smaller fat content than normal ice-cream!

They have lots of different exciting flavors.
I went for a refreshing Lemon Cheesecake with Rasberry Ripple.

Finally we headed onto Cargo for a day party and spent the night drinking 2 for £10 cocktails and dancing away... perfect.
